Jatt & Juliet is a Punjabi romantic comedy directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Darshan Singh Grewal and Gunbir Singh Sidhu. The film stars Diljit Dosanjh opposite Neeru Bajwa. It was released to theaters on 29 June 2012.
The Movie took a historic opening, it opened to 100% occupancies and shattered all previous Punjabi Film openings by a distance. It collected Rs 80 lakhs on its first day in Punjab and Rs 2.27 Crores in its opening weekend.[1] It set a record for the first week box office by collecting of Rs 4.70 Crore (Rs 4.30 cr East Punjab + Rs 40 lakhs Delhi/UP) and in its second weekend it collected Rs 2 Crore plus to become the highest grossing Punjabi Film with a collection of Rs 6.75 Crores in just 10 days! [2][3] After four weeks of release it has grossed a total of Rs 10.80 cr from the East Punjab territory, which is the 3rd highest total in that territory in the history of Indian Cinema, only behind Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots and Salman Khan's Bodyguard.[4] The total 4 week collection for Jatt and Juliet in India is Rs 12.12 Cr (10.80 Cr East Punjab + 1.27 Cr Delhi/UP) and is on its way to finish at Rs 14 Cr nett in India.[5]

Bollywood remake
After becoming a huge commercial and critical success, Jatt and Juliet becomes the first Punjabi film whose remake rights have been bought by Bollywood for a Hindi remake. Himesh Reshammiya's company has bought the remake rights which will be made in Hindi with a big bollywood star and directed by Jatt and Juliet director Anurag Singh as well.[11]Sequel - Jatt and Juliet 2
The producers have expressed their interest in making a sequel of the film - to be called Jatt and Juliet 2. This will make it the second Punjabi film to have a sequel,after Yaaran Naal Bahaaran.
